I can’t think of a better way to describe Inomata’s work than ‘slightly more shoujo than Takada’.  In her fantasy pictures all the heroines have genuine big-eye features and the heroes have got strong jaw lines.  She’s good at what she does there’s no doubting that.  However I can’t shake the feeling that she over-poses some of here characters now and again.  For example when someone points into the distance they are really obviously pointing into the distance.  They may as well be posing for a clothes catalogue if you see what I mean.
This book is full of good character pieces from several series that she’s worked on (I recognise a couple of them but I’ll be damned if I can remember their names.  I think one of them is The Weathering Continent) as well as some original work.  Roughly three quarters are fantasy pictures and the rest seem to be near-future-ish.

This book contains more of her earlier work and so the overall standard isn’t quite as high as Eccellente.  However it does contain a wider variety of styles (some pieces reminded me of Yoshitaka Amano) and gives a better impression of her overall abilities.

The book probably deserves a 5, the men in this book often look too feminine for my tastes though.  Luckily, theres a lot of nicely illustrated women.  Of special notice there is a small selection of work from Brain Powered at the beginning of the book.  Also, I was a bit annoyed that the cover illustration is no where to be found inside the book, be careful about shelf wear.  On the whole the book is a nice collection of colorful work from various projects.
